The Mayor’s Toy Appeal is now closed for 2024 and we would like to thank you all for your kindness and generosity shown to the appeal this year.
For the past six weeks we have been inundated by toys donated at our Pop-Up shop within the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre and our collection points, with many shoppers telling us how touched they are by the aims of the Mayor’s Toy Appeal. We were also extremely humbled by so many stories of why people were motivated to support the appeal, very often citing that the toy appeal had supported them as a child and vowing to help future children in crisis.
There are so many people to thank, from all the churches and schools that have organised collections, especially Hilden Grange, Kent College, Sacred Heart, St Marks and Beechwood. Also, a big shout out to Bel UK, Clear It, Tunbridge Wells Roundtable, Thames & Kosmos, SWC Partnership, Southpaw Agency, Speldhurst Parish and Bedgebury Communications for their continued generosity and support. And huge thanks must also go to the Royal Victoria Place centre, without their support we wouldn’t have the perfect retail location where we enjoyed high footfall on the upper mall and to the Big Yellow who so kindly help the appeal throughout the year.
Our collecting organisations deserve special thanks for helping us receive your kind donations, they are The Big Yellow, The Amelia, Trinity Theatre, Maddisons Residential, Barsleys and St George’s.
Finally, the wonderful people of Tunbridge Wells who continue to support the appeal every year and the fabulous volunteers who have worked so hard over many weeks to carefully select and curate toys and gifts for each child that was referred to us. Overall, we received 642 referrals from over 350 families within the borough who, with thanks to you, will enjoy a little magic this Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you all and a very Happy New Year,
Best wishes
From all at the Tunbridge Wells Mayor’s Toy Appeal
